CranioSacral Therapy Massage
What it is
CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Using a soft touch and holding specific places on the head and spine, restrictions are released in the soft tissues that surround the central nervous system. CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster resistance to disease. It’s effective for a wide range of medical problems, as it accelerates healing and directs the body toward a more balanced state. It's a good choice of therapy for those who prefer a very gentle touch, have a history of head or spinal injuries, have inner ear problems, have chronic headaches, or have recently had surgery.
How to prepare for your session
An hour before your massage, ensure you're well hydrated and drink a glass of water if needed.
If you are able to do so, warm your muscles up before the session by taking a hot bath or shower, doing some range of motion or stretching exercises or taking a gentle 10-15 minutes stroll.
After your massage, be sure to avoid alcohol or any sugary drinks and continue to hydrate and flush the body with plenty of water for the next 24 hours..
